Ride'm Cow....kitty???

Another day in the life of Daisy and Apache.

Daisy pisses off Apache.

Apache concocts a plan of revenge.

Apache sets the trap.

Daisy unwittingly takes the bait.

Apache lays on the arm of the couch, appearing to be taking a nap.

Daisy saunters by unknowingly thinking all is well.

Apache waits. And waits. And waits........

Daisy is closer. Sniffs Apache's butt. Lovingly licks Apache's face.......

Apache: "That was the last straw. Stupid dog licked me. Now she must SUFFER!"

Daisy turns to walk away. BAD MOVE!

Apache sticks butt in air. Gives his hind quarters a wiggle. Then "woosh".....into the air he flies.

He flies high.......and lands on Daisy's back. POOR DAISY!

Daisy yelps. From pain or fear...or both.

There is Apache on Daisy's back, biting into her neck, and Daisy bucking trying to shake the big, fat, orange cat off her back.

Never lick a cat in the face!

Mamasita's Early Birthday Present

I couldn't help myself. I had to pull it out of the box and put it together. While at Toys-R-Us, she giggled and was just so happy to be in it. So the next day, I bought it at WalMart because it was so obviously cheaper!

We pulled out the box. She saw the picture on the box and got soooo excited. I pulled it out and she squealed with delight! Yep, definitely a good choice!

Mi Amor

I LOVE YOU, BOBBY!!!
Sorry I've been such a puss!

Lauren Monster

Exercise:
Tuesday~10.03 miles
Wednesday~6.63 miles
Thursday~7.01 miles
Friday~7.63 miles

It's Friday! Yea!

Nothing much has happened so far. Lauren is taking her nap after an exhausting trip to the commissary. Girl is sooooo spoiled rotten. Can never make her happy. I got one of those shopping carts that has steering wheels for the kids to pretend with. It allows the children to face forward, than backwards, while pushing the cart. Well, I thought this would be perfect since when she is in a regular shopping cart, she turns herself around. I'm so afraid she'll fall out. Well, this "special" shopping cart would do the trick. Nope. She turned around, stood, moved around, houdini'd herself out of the seat belt....you name it. She cried, laughed, squealed to get attention. Of course, when you would sit her correctly, buckle her back in.....all you hear is this scream. I swear she was cussing me out. The girl's got 'tude.

Got home, and of course, that didn't make her happy because she didn't have my undivided attention because I did have to unload the truck, then unpack the groceries. It wasn't like we had a lot.

Then another episode right after the other. I had to strap her in her chair so I could feed her. Oh, that didn't go over well. She doesn't like restraint of any kind. Doesn't like her diaper changed....to her another kind of restraint. Put on her shoes....foot restraint. Put clothes on....bodily restraint. Put a clip in her hair or brush it....head restraint. See! Restraint all over the place....she doesn't likey.

Now someone restrain me from beating my head up against the wall.........LOL!

TWO THOUSAND ONE, NINE ELEVEN (2001-9-11)

TWO THOUSAND ONE, NINE ELEVEN (2001-9-11)
Two thousand one, nine eleven
Three thousand plus arrive in heaven
As they pass through the gate,
Thousands more appear in wait

A bearded man with stovepipe hat
Steps forward saying, "Lets sit, lets chat"
They settle down in seats of clouds
A man named Martin shouts out proud

"I have a dream!"
and once he did
The Newcomer said,
"Your dream still lives."

Groups of soldiers in blue and gray
Others in khaki, and green then say
"We're from Bull Run , Yorktown , the Maine "
The Newcomer said, "You died not in vain."

From a man on sticks one could hear
"The only thing we have to fear."
The Newcomer said, "We know the rest, trust us sir, we've passed that test."
"Courage doesn't hide in caves
You can't bury freedom, in a grave,
"The Newcomers had heard this voice before
A distinct Yankees twang from Hyannisport shores

A silence fell within the mist
Somehow the Newcomer knew that this
Meant time had come for her to say
What was in the hearts of the five thousand plus that day

"Back on Earth, we wrote reports,
Watched our children play in sports
Worked our gardens, sang our songs
Went to church and clipped coupons
We smiled, we laughed, we cried, we fought
Unlike you, great we're not"

The tall man in the stovepipe hat
Stood and said, "Don't talk like that!
Look at your country, look and see
You died for freedom, just like me"

Then, before them all appeared a scene
Of rubbled streets and twisted beams
Death, destruction, smoke and dust
And people working just 'cause they must
Hauling ash, lifting stones,
Knee deep in hell, but not alone

"Look! Blackman, Whiteman, Brownman, Yellowman
Side by side helping their fellow man!"
So said Martin, as he watched the scene
"Even from nightmares, can be born a dream."

Down below three firemen raised
The colors high into ashen haze
The soldiers above had seen it before
On Iwo Jima back in '45

The man on sticks studied everything closely
Then shared his perceptions on what he saw mostly
"I see pain, I see tears,I see sorrow -- but I don't see fears."
"You left behind husbands and wives
Daughters and sons and so many lives
are suffering now because of this wrong
But look very closely. You're not really gone.

All of those people, even those who've never met you
All of their lives, they'll never forget you
Don't you see what has happened?
Don't you see what you've done?
You've brought them together, together as one.

With that the man in the stovepipe hat said
"Take my hand," and from there he led
three thousand plus heroes,
Newcomers to heaven
On this day, two thousand one, nine eleven .

Lauren's Virus

Update:

It kills me to not make it better. She can't tell me where it hurts. All I can do is hold her, rock her, and sing to her. She hasn't vomited today. Diarrhea has arrived. Her tummy still hurts. I can tell. She has not been herself. No happy-go-lucky, vivacious, giggly little girl. She is not cranky. She is just wanting to be held. When on the floor, she lies motionless. She might crawl from here-to-there. But it's mainly, just lying on her tummy, her little naughty-self gone. Right now she takes her nap. No fight like she always does. I just laid her down.....and she rolled over and closed her eyes.

Hopefully, by tonight, she'll be herself.............

Lauren's First Stomach Virus....a milestone

I heard Lauren when I was running this morning but I wanted to finish my 6 minutes that I had left. I thought she was up way tooo early anyway by her usual time frame. I finish the run and take my shower, she was quiet so I thought she fell back to sleep. She probably did. Well, at 7am, I hear her again and go in. The smell over took me! UGH! Not poo! It was the disgusting smell of a "virus". You know that smell, after your child vomits! UGH! I turn on the light and there was vomit everywhere. She was covered from head to toe! It was all over her crib, the stuffed animals....everything. My poor baby!!!!!!!!!! I rushed hurriedly to the bathroom and washed her hair and rinsed her off. My poor baby!!!!!!!!!!! Then I dried her, put her in clean clothes, and then breast fed her. She seemed okay then. I then put her on the living room floor and hurriedly pulled her sheets and stuffed animals out of the crib...sprayed it down with Lysol...and then turned the washer on HOT water and washed everything...including the stuffed animals. I'm sure some of those will be ruined. Then I made her some oatmeal and fed her that and a jar of bananas. Didn't make it half way....she projectiled all over ME!!!!! UGH! She didn't even give a warning. It just came up. She didn't even cry. I then took all my clothes off. Wiped her down and pulled her formerly clean clothes off. Threw, what I was feeding her, away. Some of the vomit got in the bowl. Ewwww! I feel like a chicken with her head cut off! Finally, got myself redressed. Thank God, I bought some Emetrol. Gave her a tsp of that and made her a bottle of Gatorade (since that is all I have at the moment....will have to get the baby stuff later).

Well, now it's a little after 3pm. She made it through lunch, took a 3 hour nap, then I breast fed her. Not even a minute after she finished did she upchuck her lunch from three hours prior and the breast milk that she just drank. Great. Now my bed is covered with 6 undigested fries (the boys gave her on our way home from Lowes~~Matthew had to build a birdhouse for Cub Scouts) from McD's, diluted Gatorade, Gerber oatmeal, and bananas. Wonderful. I think I have washed 3 loads of vomit covered clothing, towels, and bedding. For one small child, she sure does have a lot of puke.

What Time is it?

First of all before I forget....Lauren got another tooth. Six now. What is it? 18 more to go? How many teeth does a child have anyway?

Time? Really, what is it?

There is never enough of it.
It either goes to fast when you are having fun.
Or goes to slow, when the day is ripe with boredom.
Is gone before you know it.
It creeps on you.
When you need more of it, never get it.
When you don't need more of it, there is always more than you need.
It heals old wounds.
It stands still.
It can be restrained.
It can be capsuled.
It can be wound.
It can be reflected.
We can go back in it.

Time? It is now.
